Apples and other fruits grow well in Vermont, but so do the pests! While certain varieties of Apples are prone to resist diseases, there isn't much you can do about insects other than use a pesticide or trap of some kind. Local TV staion WCAX recently did a profile on some organic insect control methods, which featured the Apple Maggot Fly Trap and Coddling Moth Trap, both developed by Ladd Research.
