Fire and Explosion Hazards: Material is flammable. Use water spray to cool cylinders if fire is present.

Extinguishing Media: Water spray, water fog, dry chemical, carbon dioxide and alcohol foam

Fire Fighting Instructions: Keep container cool with water spray.  Self-contained breathing apparatus required if containers rupture under fire conditions.

HEALTH HAZARD DATA

Inhalation of high concentrations of vapor is harmful and may cause heart irregularities, unconsciousness or death.  Vapor reduces oxygen available for breathing and is heavier than air.  Liquid contact can cause frostbite.

Individuals with preexisting diseases of the central nervous or cardiovascular system may have increased susceptibility to the toxicity of excessive exposure.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID

Inhalation: Immediately remove to fresh air.  Keep person calm. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.

Skin: Immediately flush skin with plenty water for at least 15 minutes.  Treat for frostbite, if necessary, by gently warming affected area.

Eye: Immediately flush with plenty water for at least 15 minutes.  Call a physician.

REACTIVITY DATA

Stability: Material is stable.  Avoid open flames and high temperatures.

Incompatibility: Alkali or alkaline earth metals - powdered Al, Zn, Be, etc.

Polymerization: Hazardous polymerization will not occur.

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Hydrofluoric acid and carbonyl fluoride are possible decomposition products of this material.

SPILL, DISPOSAL AND STORAGE INFORMATION

Spill: If a spill can cause a concentration in excess of 1000 ppm, turn of valves and ignition sources.  Evacuate area. Ventilate area, especially low places where heavy vapors might collect.

Disposal: Reclaim by distillation, incinerate, or remove to a permitted waste facility.

Storage: Store in a clean, dry area.  Do not heat above 52EC.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND CONTROL MEASURES

Ventilation: Normal ventilation for standard manufacturing procedures is generally adequate.

Gloves: Impervious gloves should be worn (Neoprene, etc.)

Eyewear: Chemical splash goggles should be worn.
