Ladd Research sells a wide variety of apertures, microholes, filaments & screens for scanning and transmission electron microscopes (SEM, FESEM and TEM), Microprobe systems, and Focused Ion Beam. We also carry platinum and molybdenum apertures. Other products include, fluorescent screens, diamond knives & Mercox. We have inventory available from current brands of electron microscope system manufacturers including Hitachi, FEI/Philips, Topcon, JEOL, ISI, Nanolab, ZEISS/LEO, Tescan and Cameca. We also specialize in custom electron microscope disc apertures, as well as custom strip apertures.

Mercox II Dye

Comes in Red and Blue Because these dyes are very potent, additional dye is usually not necessary for Red and Blue Mercox. Use only if you wish to enhance the color and then use judiciously. The dyes are to be used principally to colorize the Clear Mercox.

For holding aperture discs or strips while flaming. Small discs can be flamed in the 3/16" diameter cup made from 6 mil platinum foil with 1/32" diameter hole in bottom to induce good flow of air. Cup is attached by 30 mil platinum wire to heat resistant handle. Aperture strips can be hung from the hook for flaming.

We are pleased to introduce a new line of sub micron apertures. Manufacture of apertures less than 1 micron in diameter is made possible by the development of composite apertures consisting of a molybdenum (Mo) support with a thin sheet of platinum (Pt) foil fused to the surface. The sturdy Mo support contains a visible counterbore to simplify locating the very small aperture hole.
