Ball joints permit positioning of specimen at desired angle. Thumb screws maintain angle. Alligator type replaceable spring clamps hold work firmly. Heavy base prevents tipping. Height to crossbar is 4". Learn More
Portable vacuum base easily attaches to smooth, non-porous surfaces such as Formica, porcelain or stainless steel. Mounting lever attaches and releases heavy duty suction pad - moistening the pad increases its grip. Holds all Standard PanaVise heads with same variable load control knob allowing movement as in Standard PanaVise Base (sku: 11492). Learn More
Most popular vise head due to its versatility and durable construction. Fits both standard and vacuum PanaVise bases. 2 1/2" wide nylon jaws open up to 2 1/4". Tough yet gentle jaws have satin finish for improved grip. Learn More
Designed specifically for doing the first side polishing of TEM specimens. However, the plain L bracket can be used for polishing SEM cross sections if additional mounting prior to microscope viewing is to be done. Learn More
The most commonly used bracket. It has a slot through the front to accommodate the Pyrex inserts for wedge polishing, the SEM stub mount, as well as the L59002 Wedge Polishing Mount. Learn More
The LEBSD (Electron Backscatter Diffraction) Specimen Polishing Kit is based on the Model L150 micrometer controlled lapping fixture. Two mounting blocks are included to hold a 1/8" diameter pin SEM mount for plan view preparation of a Tripod Polisher SEM mount for XSEM preparation. The stubs are secured into the block with a set screw prior to loading into the lapping fixture. The kit includes a SampleSaver FIB storage container and two tier locking rack, and pin adapters for holding the L150 mounts. A pre-tilt EBSD specimen stage is included with three height segments. The low profile mount fits most SEM load locks and can be stored in the Sample Saver without removal from the pre-tilt holder.
Special Features
A relatively simple and inexpensive method for mechanically polishing and mounting EBSD specimens on an SEM stub, allowing quick transfer without dismounting a prepared sample.
Pre-Tilt EBSD specimen stage keeps sample at a fixed angle of 70o or the complementary angle of 20o in the chamber.
The process utilizes conventional, easily available, precision abrasives and is compatible with other sample preparation equipment and consumables.
The Model L150 Lapping Fixture can be utilized for other routine parallel and angled polishing processes without modification. Up to 1.25" diameter mounting blocks are available.
A low force Model L150L lapping fixture is available as an option.
Complete process recipes, consumable supplies, and other accessories are available and include hand lapping tray, lapping and polishing machines, hot plate/cooling tray and sample mounting devices. Learn More
This unit literally pumps thermal energy down the drain. As power is applied to the rugged thermo-electric modules, heat is transferred from the cold plate to the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is maintained at tap water temperature by a hose connection to the 1/4 inch tubing at the rear of the instrument. A flow of one liter of tap water per minute through the heat exchanger is sufficient to carry excess heat down the drain. The unit has a low temperature limit approximately 40oC below that of the tap water. The unit is recommended for solutions up to 200ml and uses a 3 inch diameter top plate from which heat is extracted at an initial rate of 130 BTU/hr. There is a built-in magnetic stirrer with speed control which, combined with a magnet bar in the solution, will keep your solution at equilibrium. The digital meter controller is very easy to set. Just follow the simple instructions to dial in the desired temperature for your project. The controller will maintain the set point to +/- 0.1oC accuracy.
Rapid cooling to -20o C. Lightweight, portable. Weighs only 8 pounds. Built-in adjustable power supply. 3" top plate allows cooling of up to 200 ml of solution. Tap water cooling is used as heat exchanger. Maximum power required is 55 watts. Temperature control from +25o C to -20o C. Excellent wherever rapid, efficient temperature control is needed such as tissue fixation and dehydration, recrystallization, freezing point determinations and temperature control for physical measurements. Overall dimensions: 7 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 4 3/4".
