The Vibrating Platform has the same overall design as the Orbital Shaker Platform but has an orbiting diameter of 0.06", making it essentially a vibrating platform. A magnetic stirrer with a 6" x 6" top plate is optimum, but a 5" x 7" top will provide adequate surface area. This low profile orbital shaker is magnetically driven by placing it on top of your magnetic stirrer. Speed adjustment is accomplished by setting the magnetic stirrer to the desired orbiting speed. A minimum stirrer top plate of 6" x 6" is optimum, however a 5" x 7" top will provide adequate surface area. Slower stirrers or weaker magnets under the stirrer top may limit the speed of the shaker operation. The orbital Shaker has a rotating orbit diameter of 0.856" and a weight holding capacity of 15 lbs. The top and bottom plates have non-skid pads to keep the shaker and vessels from "crawling".
