Parafilm® M

This semi-transparent, self-sealing film can be molded to fit any vessel. It prevents evaporation and dissemination of odors, a quality that makes Parafilm invaluable for refrigerated storage of materials. It is resistant to many chemicals and is available in four sizes . Parafilm can be used in a wide variety of ways: Laboratory - Parafilm M is ideal because it is a thermoplastic, self sealing film and offers excellent protection for a variety of containers, even those with irregular shapes and surfaces. It holds moisture loss to a minimum. It can be used as a shelf or tray liner to prevent slippage. For TEM labs it can be used as a hydrophobic surface when putting reagents onto TEM grids. Hummer 6.2 Sputter Coater with 2 stage pump

The Ladd / Hummer™ 6.2 performs sputter coating, a cold process in which ions impacting a metal source dislodge metal atoms. The atoms disperse throughout the process chamber to uniformly coat irregularly shaped specimens without thermal damage. Sputter coating produces high quality coatings whose thickness is repeatable and easily controlled. Cold, fast sputter rates require less time, giving you more time for microscope examinations.

The Carbon Evaporation Accessory and the Digital Thickness Monitors must be ordered at the same time as the sputter coater and are only available for newly purchased sputter coaters.

Please Note!! The SC6.2TR comes with a 6 inch diameter chamber and with a tilting rotary stage already installed. The chamber for all other 6.2 models has a 4" diameter.

Standard Flat Rectangular Silicone Molds

These molds, made from a special blue-colored silicone rubber, produce flat blocks almost completely trimmed, ready for microtomy. Orientation of specimen material during embedding is easy because the block is flat, and the amount of resin used is small. When hardened, these pre-numbered blocks are easily removed from the mold by flexing it slightly. Flat blocks can be used with most ultra-microtomes. Can be baked up to a temperature of 204 degrees Celsius. Each depression: 14mm long x 5mm wide x 3mm deep.
