A high resolution test specimen consisting of a graphitized ISAF carbon black dispersed on "lacey" carbon film supported by a 200 mesh grid. The carbon black chains bridge openings in the film so there is no substrate to interfere with resolution tests. Imaging of the 3.4 Angstrom lattice spacing of the carbon, along with the curved regions and dislocations, permit magnification calibration and check the performance of high resolution electron microscopes. If your instrument can resolve the tetrad of this protein molecule it has better than 12.5 Angstroms resolution. Supplied as a pure suspension dispersed upon a formvar substrate. Learn More
A 1500 mesh, 0.00015" thick nickel screen is precisely mounted within a 3.0 mm copper athene-type, double grid. The double grid is firmly secured to provide a sturdy specimen to last indefinitely. The very accurate spacings may be used to check magnification. The fine wire projections aid in the measurement of field distortions. One bar and one space measures 16.94 µm. Learn More
Crystals of bovine liver catalase are recommended as an internal standard of length in the electron microscope. Absolute sizes in the magnification range of 10,000 X to 150,000 X may be determined with an accuracy of +/- 2.5% and relative sizes with an accuracy of +/- 1.5%. Based on experimental data, the principal catalase lattice spacing is 172 +/- 4 Angstroms. Lattice lines separated by half this distance are used in actual size determinations. Crystals are suspended in antibacterial solution. Sealed in 10 ml glass vial. Learn More
Where surface roughness studies are necessary, these spherical particles, lying in the range of 100-500 nm, are invaluable. Shadows of these particles accurately calibrate every area being examined. Also, the shadows may be used to calculate elevations and depressions. Complete instructions for use included. Learn More
Performs all of the three major instrument calibrations for a TEM: image magnification; camera constant for indexing diffraction patterns; and image/diffraction pattern rotation for relating crystal directions to features in the image. Learn More
Available in many diameters. Note: Particle sizes may vary somewhat from those listed. Exact size listed on each vial. Each vial contains 10ml of an aqueous suspension of 0.2% (w/v) spheres per ml. In the item description, the number of particles per ml is designated with an exponent. For example, 3.7 x 10E12 is equivalent to 3.7 x 1012.
Now Available!! In addition to the standard latex spheres listed below, we now offer NIST traceable polystyrene latex spheres in various sizes. Certificate of Compliance available. Please call us for details.
Please Note!! During the winter months these items must be shipped via next day air to minimize the chance of freezing.
300 mesh copper grid. A germanium-shadowed carbon replica of a ruled diffraction grating having 54,864 lines per inch, actual grating spacing of 463 nm. Of particular value in high magnification work where the 28,800 line grating presents too few lines for accurate measurement. Learn More
