This unit literally pumps thermal energy down the drain. As power is applied to the rugged thermo-electric modules, heat is transferred from the cold plate to the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is maintained at tap water temperature by a hose connection to the 1/4 inch tubing at the rear of the instrument. A flow of one liter of tap water per minute through the heat exchanger is sufficient to carry excess heat down the drain. The unit has a low temperature limit approximately 40oC below that of the tap water. The unit is recommended for solutions up to 200ml and uses a 3 inch diameter top plate from which heat is extracted at an initial rate of 130 BTU/hr. There is a built-in magnetic stirrer with speed control which, combined with a magnet bar in the solution, will keep your solution at equilibrium. The digital meter controller is very easy to set. Just follow the simple instructions to dial in the desired temperature for your project. The controller will maintain the set point to +/- 0.1oC accuracy. These pre-shaped polyethylene capsules were developed to replace the conventional round-bottomed gelatin capsules with all their attendant problems. Important advantages are: 1. They produce preformed blocks. 2. Orientation of specimen is facilitated. 3. The plastic does not adhere to the polymerized block, which is readily removed. 4. Cavi-clean Liquid Detergent - An all-purpose detergent formulated to increase efficiency of ultrasonic units. Gentle to the hands. Neutral pH. Will not harm metals or their alloys. Has blood cutting agents and a rust inhibitor. Includes an excellent wetting and penetrating agent among it's features. 1 gallon container (concentrate, 1 oz per gallon of water) Highly soluble powder designed exclusively for use in ultrasonic cleaners to greatly increase the cleaning action of Cavi-Clean Liquid Detergent (sku: 11715). Super-strong, even removes metal oxides. Recommended use is within a glass beaker.
