32110 - Cavi-Clean Additive

Highly soluble powder designed exclusively for use in ultrasonic cleaners to greatly increase the cleaning action of Cavi-Clean Liquid Detergent (sku: 11715). Super-strong, even removes metal oxides. Recommended use is within a glass beaker. Due to it's potency, Cavi-Clean Additive should not be used with other detergents and should be used only in ultrasonic cleaners. Avoid using where more than one type of metal is present.

Hold embedding capsules upright to produce either pyramidal or flat tip blocks. The twenty-two numbered, nonconstricting cavities in each break-resistant holder can be illuminated from below for accurate specimen orientation. Micromolds

These unitized polyethylene molds have been used quite successfully for holding embedding medium plus specimen material during polymerization prior to ultramicrotomy. Each mold unit makes 10 numbered blocks, 8 mm in diameter, the equivalent of #00 embedding capsules. These blocks have a pyramid-shaped tip 1 mm square, which requires little or no trimming.

Available in two sizes: 5.6 and 8mm diameter. The 5.6mm diameter molds corresponds to BEEM capsule size 3 and the 8mm diameter molds corresponds to BEEM capsule size 00. These polyethylene molds make embedding easy and the see-through tips facilitate rapid specimen orientation. Polymerized blocks can be removed by thumb pressure. Easy Molds come as a free-standing stack of 20 embedding compartments which allows free circulation of air and gives even polymerization. For anaerobic embedding resins, the molds are self-stacking, allowing sealing from air. The used molds are convenient for storage of blocks after sectioning. Mold size is 87 x 66mm.

Vacuum Pick-Up

Handles delicate grids, substrates, thin sections, etc. without breaking or pinching. Performs tweezer functions such as picking up, holding and carrying. Vacuum is created at the tip by placing finger over control port located on the probe handle. To break vacuum, just remove finger from port. Adjustable vacuum generator lets user dial desired vacuum pressure and can create up to 14" Hg vacuum (air flow of 125 in3/min.) Unit is 115 VAC, 60 Hz and 2 watts. Unit comes complete with vacuum generator, anodized aluminum probe, 4 feet of tubing with in-line filter and 5 stainless steel probe tips (0.052", 0.047", 0.022", 0.016" and 0.013" ID).

11255 - Demagnetizer

Demagnetizes or magnetizes parts or tools. To demagnetize: simply hold object in the center of the opening with button depressed for 3 or 4 seconds. Slowly withdraw object in a straight line. Release button. To magnetize: hold the part or tool against the inside of the opening and press the button for 4 or 5 seconds and release. Opening is even large enough to accommodate cassette tapes for quick erasure. Oblong hole is 3" x 1 1/2".

32140 - Spindrive Orbital Shaker Platform

This low profile orbital shaker is magnetically driven by placing it on top of your magnetic stirrer. Speed adjustment is accomplished by setting the magnetic stirrer to the desired orbiting speed. A minimum stirrer top plate of 6" x 6" is optimum, however a 5" x 7" top will provide adequate surface area. Slower stirrers or weaker magnets under the stirrer top may limit the speed of the shaker operation. The orbital Shaker has a rotating orbit diameter of 0.856" and a weight holding capacity of 15 lbs. The top and bottom plates have non-skid pads to keep the shaker and vessels from "crawling". The top is designed to prevent any spillage from affecting the operating mechanism. The bottom plate has four pick-up indents for easy lifting.

32142 - Spindrive Vibrating Platform

The Vibrating Platform has the same overall design as the Orbital Shaker Platform but has an orbiting diameter of 0.06", making it essentially a vibrating platform. A magnetic stirrer with a 6" x 6" top plate is optimum, but a 5" x 7" top will provide adequate surface area. It is designed to handle four microtiter plates or two large culture flasks, maximum load is 3 lbs.
