This oven uniformly cures embedding blocks. The thermistor temperature sensor and solid state circuitry gives exceptional temperature control. A recessed chamber at the top of the unit holds three interchangeable aluminum block inserts, two types of which are available.
Extremely compact. Only 15" wide x 9" deep x 4" high.
Available in two sizes: 5.6 and 8mm diameter. The 5.6mm diameter molds corresponds to BEEM capsule size 3 and the 8mm diameter molds corresponds to BEEM capsule size 00. These polyethylene molds make embedding easy and the see-through tips facilitate rapid specimen orientation. Polymerized blocks can be removed by thumb pressure. Easy Molds come as a free-standing stack of 20 embedding compartments which allows free circulation of air and gives even polymerization. For anaerobic embedding resins, the molds are self-stacking, allowing sealing from air. The used molds are convenient for storage of blocks after sectioning. Mold size is 87 x 66mm.
Used with L03090 or L03067 and clamps the small pyrex rods into the L590. The clamp is anodized aluminum and squeezes against the pyrex rod, holding it in place. Included at no charge with the purchase of the BiPod Polisher.
Similar in function to the Pyrex insert. Specimens are mounted to the rod for wedge polishing applications. Included at no charge with the purchase of the BiPod Polisher.
This insert is a glass stub used for TEM polishing of specimens. It is used in conjunction with the slotted L bracket and is used for wedge polishing applications. Not included with the purchase of the BiPod Polisher.
The SEM stub mount is designed specifically for mounting specimens for SEM polishing. It fits directly into the stage of most standard SEM stages and eliminates the need for remounting the specimen prior to SEM observation. Included at no charge with the purchase of the BiPod Polisher.
Used seccessfully for embedding very small or thin, elongated pieces of tissue. The shape of these capsules requires that care be exercised when filling them so there will be no air entrapped in the tips. Suitable for centrifugal packing of whole cells. Makes a block that is 7.9 mm OD x 18 mm high.
These capsules have proved of great use to the virologist for encapsulation of virus samples. They have also proved helpful to those microscopists who must examine cross-sections of thin elongated sections of tissue. Care must be exercised when filling these capsules to prevent entrapment of air in the tips. Suitable for centrifugal packing of whole cells. Makes a block that is 8 mm ID x 18 mm high.
Hold embedding capsules upright to produce either pyramidal or flat tip blocks. The twenty-two numbered, nonconstricting cavities in each break-resistant holder can be illuminated from below for accurate specimen orientation. Holders can be stacked in the polymerization oven or on the storage shelf - a real space saver.
BEEM now has available a capsule holder in a UV transparent plastic, hence it is now possible to carry out low temperature polymerizations using these UV transparent capsule holders.
These unitized polyethylene molds have been used quite successfully for holding embedding medium plus specimen material during polymerization prior to ultramicrotomy. Each mold unit makes 10 numbered blocks, 8 mm in diameter, the equivalent of #00 embedding capsules. These blocks have a pyramid-shaped tip 1 mm square, which requires little or no trimming.

White, waxy, water soluble material used as a parting layer to permit floating a replica free from a specimen surface. Predried to minimize delay during operational pump-down in the vacuum evaporator.

Mica is used in the preparation of carbon substrates. Evaporated carbon film can readily be floated free from a freshly cleaved mica surface and then be picked up on grids. Sheets are easily cleaved to form 3 or 4 fresh surfaces. Flame spectroscopy analysis show this mica to be of very high quality.
Packages of 12 sheets
The Zerostat 3 is the ideal device for sample cleaning in electron microscope and histology labs and in photographic dark rooms. It easily releases dust from critical surfaces such as grid storage boxes, film, samples, plastics, etc. The Zerostat 3 functions by neutralizing static electricity. It prevents charged particles from "flying" during weighing or transfer, and keeps film, glass, and plasticware dust and lint-free. It is nonradioactive, and does not require an electrical power supply or batteries. Life expectancy is 50,000+ squeezes of the trigger. Each squeeze of the trigger generates a charge of approximately 1 Coulomb. Dimensions are 4.5" x 6.5".
